What is Home?
This post is for people who travelled around a
lot and lived in different places and countries. If you did not travel a lot
and jumped from one place to another with or without plan, some of the things
am going to talk about wont relate to you. Or maybe it will be a motivation for
you, to start packing, carrying on and leaving your comfort zone. Go to new
place, where you Do not know the language, do not know anyone, do not even know
your way to the nearest super market to get food on your first night.
Travelling around and moving from place to place
is an amazing experience. But as everything else, nothing is merely amazing. Everything
has advantages and disadvantages. In the next couple of lines I will let you
know about one of the disadvantages I am facing myself. But do not let it back you off
from travelling and jumping around, because trust me the pros are way more than
the cons.
Lets get to the core, Sometimes, I feel
homesick. And its normal to happen to everyone. Of course you predicted by home
I mean the place I was born and raised in. but here comes the question that has
been confusing me for a while. What is Home.?
The answer to that question is personally hard
to answer for myself. Which home I miss? Is it the place I was born in? Or the
place where I had the most friends? Or the place I had the best time? Or the
place I made a lot of success and achievements? Sometimes I miss where I was
raised and born. Other days I miss my friends I made while travelling. Other
days I miss the lifestyle I had in a certain city. Other times I miss the crazy
times I had in that other city.
It will get complicated in this paragraph, so
gather up all your energy for the next couple of lines. There is a confusion
that happens while I am travelling for a trip away from a city that I just
moved in couple of months ago and am already a stranger in it. In that trip I
miss home. And home in that context is not where I was raised, or have my best
friends, but home in that context is that city I just moved in. that room that
I still can spend nights not able to sleep because am not used to it.
Surprisingly when I get back from that trip to that city I was missing and
calling home. I feel homesick although I was calling it home couple of days
ago.
In the end I am just wondering where home could
be? Because in different situation definition of home changes. And with more
moving and travelling perception of home is different.
It says home is where your heart is
ReplyDeleteBut what a shame
Cause everyone's heart
